Blog Virgin

While I have read my fair share of blogs, after reading blogs and thinking about how it might be cool to have a blog, I am finally breaking into the blog world. There, I said it. I am not sure how interesting this blog will be, nor am I sure that I will be a consistent blogger but I am going to give it a shot.

Background information
I live in Texas with my husband who recently became a doctor. We have been married for 3.5 years and we have a dog named Batman (hence two smiths and a BAT). Why name our dog Batman? Well, when we rescued him from Twylas in Kingwood that was what his foster parents named him, so we kept it.

I work at a local hospital doing something I truly love and feel so lucky that I found the profession I did. I am also the recent recipient of a MHA (Masters in Health Care Administration). After 2.5 years and 67 hours of blood, sweat, working full time, going to school full time, lack of sleep, drinking lots of coffee, and tears (tears for sure), I finally achieved what I set out to achieve, an MHA. Thank God! My life is back! What a better time to start a blog, right?

Now that I have my life back I have big plans to start new hobbies such as watching more quality TV (house shows on HGTV, Jersey Shore, Real World, Real Housewives, Desperate Housewives, The Little Couple, anything on BRAVO and anything else that basically pollutes my brain). Other hobbies include cooking more, running, working out when I want, reading REAL books, socializing, volunteering, watching all of my friends have babies, researching my next dog, researching my next car, and anything else that pops up.

My next real goal that I am a little anxious about achieving is finishing my third half marathon. I am not anxious about finishing; I am anxious about beating my previous times. I have been running non-stop since I was in 7th grade and I ran competitively until I was a senior in high school (I know, it sounds a little Uncle Ricoesque). After high school I decided I was tired of being stressed about running fast, and winning. I decided I wanted to run for fun, so here I am, running a half marathon, for fun...ha! I did invest in some new Nike Vapor head phones which I am positive will help me drop an hour off my time because I will not be spending the entire time smashing the i-pod headphones in my ears.

Well, I am pretty sure I could continue to tell the rest of my life story but I better go engage in another new hobby (TV v. reading).
